Year 3 had a surprise letter from the British Museum to say there was evidence that there had been a Stone Age camp on the grounds of St Leonard’s School!
We grabbed our spades and we went digging!
We found some flint, mussel shells, some large stones surrounding charcoal, arrow heads and blades among other things.
We took the evidence back to class to examine and drew inferences about what the artefacts suggested about life in the Stone Age.
We recorded our findings and wrote about our experience.
